Through the development and performance of this task I was able to meet the FEAPs 2a, 2c, and 2e. I met these FEAPs by organizing the lesson plan, accounting for the amount of time the lesson would take, and planning to use the space that the students use daily for their mini lessons. I was able to gain attention by going over the CHAMPS expectations for this lesson and setting the tone for how the students needed to behave during the lesson. I displayed FEAP 2c by setting the expectations before the the lesson began and doing so in a collaborative way that included a discussion of what I expected from the students. And I displayed FEAP 2e by modeling clear and acceptable oral communication skills by performing this task and gaining proper student response ad comprehension due to the expectations and explanations that I provided the students throughout the read-aloud.

I am able to connect this performance to FEAP 5a, because throughout the small group lesson I had to adjust my lesson as I observe the student responses so that I can best meet their needs for that specific lesson. As the teacher I am continually checking for student comprehension and making adjustments during the lesson so that they are effective for the student’s specific needs.

My performance of this task best connects with FEAPs 2b and 2c, because I planned and set the high expectations my CT consistently expects for this routine before the students lined up and was able to manage their behavior by remaining in the middle of the line in order to observe and manage all student behavior. I managed behavior in a gentle and fair way and also offered praise to my students throughout and after the routine for meeting the expectations.
